Description

A flavorful rice dish with anti-inflammatory properties.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup peas (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water.
  2. In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  5. Stir in turmeric, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Add the rinsed rice and mix well.
  7. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is cooked.
  9. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in peas if using.
