Description

A classic holiday green bean casserole made with fresh green beans, creamy sauce, and crispy toppings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the blanched green beans to the soup mixture and stir to coat.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and stir in half of the French fried onions.
  7. Top with the remaining French fried onions and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can use frozen green beans if fresh are not available.
  • Adjust the amount of French fried onions based on your preference.
