Description

Crispy and flavorful Japanese fried chicken made in an air fryer.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup potato starch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sake, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil.
  3. Add chicken to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, mix potato starch, salt, and pepper.
  5. Coat marinated chicken pieces in the potato starch mixture.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
  7. Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  8. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, spray a little cooking oil on the chicken before air frying.
  • Adjust marinade time for stronger flavor.
  • Serve with lemon wedges for added zest.
