Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and salt.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a hard crack stage (300°F).
  3. Pour the toffee mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let them melt.
  5. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
  7. Let it cool completely, then break into pieces.
