Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and salt.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a hard crack stage (300°F).
- Pour the toffee mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let them melt.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
- Let it cool completely, then break into pieces.

- Store in an airtight container.
- Optionally, use different types of chocolate.
