Description

A traditional Christmas dessert shaped like a log.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate frosting
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and line a 15×10 inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat eggs and add oil and vanilla.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
  6. Spread batter evenly in the pan.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until set.
  8. Roll the cake in a towel while warm and let cool.
  9. Unroll the cake and spread frosting on top.
  10. Roll the cake again and frost the outside.
  11. Use a fork to create bark-like texture.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
