Description

Air Fryer Egyptian Ta’ameya is a popular vegetarian dish made from fava beans. It’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, offering a delicious flavor.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fava beans, soaked overnight
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the soaked fava beans.
  2. In a food processor, combine fava beans, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pulse until you achieve a coarse mixture.
  4. Shape the mixture into small patties.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  7. Place the patties in the basket in a single layer.
  8. Lightly spray the tops of the patties with cooking spray.
  9. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with your favorite sauce.
