Air Fryer Egyptian Ta’ameya is a popular vegetarian dish made from fava beans. It’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, offering a delicious flavor.

- 2 cups fava beans, soaked overnight
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the soaked fava beans.
- In a food processor, combine fava beans, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pulse until you achieve a coarse mixture.
- Shape the mixture into small patties.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the patties in the basket in a single layer.
- Lightly spray the tops of the patties with cooking spray.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite sauce.
